Cranberry Scones


INGREDIENTS (makes 8-12)


225g self raising flour

Pinch of salt

50g of butter

25g castor sugar

150ml milk

110g chopped cranberries


DIRECTIONS


  1. Heat the oven to 220C Gas Mk7
  2. Lightly grease a baking sheet
  3. Mix together the flour salt and rub in the butter
  4. Stir in the sugar and cranberries followed by the milk to create a soft dough
  5. Turn on to a floured work surface and knead very lightly
  6. Pat out to a round 20mm thick, use a 50mm cutter to cut out individual scones and put on baking sheet
  7. Lightly knead together the rest of the dough, pat out and cut more scones until all used up
  8. Brush the top of the scones with a dab of milk and bake for 15-20 mins until well risen and golden
  9. Cool on a wire rack and server with butter, jam and cream
