Chocolate Brownie Sundaes
INGREDIENTS (Serves 8)
15g butter
2 eggs + 3 large egg whites whisked until firm
150g apple sauce
90ml vegetable oil
75g plain chocolate
110g plain flour
75g cocoa powder
1 heaped tsp baking powder
150g castor sugar
300ml double cream whipped
Fresh strawberries for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 170C Gas mark 3
- Grease an 18cm tin with the butter
- Lightly beat eggs, add apple sauce, oil and melted chocolate, stir to mix
- Sift flour cocoa and baking powder into the mixture and add sugar stirring in gently
- Carefully fold in egg whites, spoon into baking tin and bake for 30-35 mins
- Cool on a rack, cut in half horizontally and fill with whipped cream, dust top with
cocoa powder and garnish with strawberries.
