Chocolate and Pear Tart
INGREDIENTS (Serves 4 - 6)
500g short crust pastry
125g ground almonds
2 large eggs
125g softened butter
100g castor sugar
200g melted dark chocolate
3 pears, peeled cored and quartered
DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat the oven to 190C gas Mk5
- Roll out pastry and line 24cm tart tin
- Leave in freezer for minimum 20 mins
- Bake the pastry blind for 10 mins
- Remove from oven and reduce oven temperature to 170C gas Mk3
- Mix the almonds eggs butter and sugar together
- Stir in the melted chocolate whilst still warm
- Pour the mixture into the pastry case
- Press the pears into the chocolate and almond mixture, cut side down
- Bake the tart for 45 mins until pastry is golden brown and the choc and almond mixture
is firm
Serve warm with crème fraiche or cream.
